What is the matter with Mary Jane? by Wendy Harmer is an internationally acclaimed monodrama based on the true story of Sancia Robinson. It is a touching, hilarious and, at times, shocking play dealing with anorexia nervosa and bulimia. Told from the viewpoint of one woman, Sancia’s journey begins as a teenager with an all too common obsession with image, food and control. Fear, perfectionism, paranoia, and depression are just a few issues associated with this extremely complicated illness.
