Our major work for2013 was a deeply Tasmanian work, brought to the stage, with our conspirators, Arthur.
Celia and Cooper are eking out a subsistence life hidden away from the outside world. When a stranger arrives, injured and seeking help, their three lives become tenuously intertwined.
When opposing beliefs and desires emerge, things edge into dangerous territory. Inside it’s warm and safe, but outside the jaws of the traps are waiting. And there’s nobody to help for miles and miles and miles…
The Midlands is an engrossing foray into Tasmania Gothic and reunites two strikingly original companies, Mudlark and Arthur, who last collaborated on The Sea Project in 2012.
It's tense, it's gothic, it's juicy, it's moving, it's a landscape, it's psychological, it's simple, it's complicated.
It's your dream and your nightmare.
